Charity Insurance
1. Assumptions
We’ve made some assumptions to make getting a quote for your organisation as easy as possible.
Please read through these and tell us if the assumptions we have made are correct.
Your organisation is:
- A charity or not-for-profit organisation
- Based in the UK
Your organisation does not:
- Currently insure with Ansvar Insurance, Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc, Baptist Insurance Company or Methodist Insurance plc
- Have more than £250,000 annual income or turnover
- Have more than £100,000 annual wageroll
- Have more than 100 volunteers
- Undertake any work abroad other than clerical work
- Operate outside of the UK for more than 90 consecutive days
- Send any goods or money outside of the UK
- Have any trading subsidiaries
- Undertake any domiciliary personal care, medical or nursing care
- Provide any medical products or aids (wheelchairs, walking aids, bathing aids) or any second-hand equipment
- Need to register with Ofsted or the Financial Conduct Authority
- Need to register with the Care Quality Commission (or Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish equivalent)
- Dispense needles or prescribe drugs, medicines or the like
- Run firework displays and bonfire events that have more than 100 attendees at any one time
- Run fundraising events (other than firework displays and bonfire events) that have more than 1,000 attendees at any one time

Own, manage or administrate any of the following:
- Facility supporting homelessness, refugees or asylum seekers
- Hospice
- Residential alcohol or drug facility
- Sports arena or centre
- Swimming pool
- Warehouse
- DIY schemes or Time Banks

Engage in:
- Environmental or governmental campaigning or lobbying
- International or overseas aid
- Regulation or certification
- Accountancy, financial or legal advice

Provide services related to:
- Human rights or the prevention of cruelty or abuse
- Mental or sexual health
- Medical or surgical research, care, advice, diagnosis or treatment
- Homelessness, refugees or asylum seekers

Have legal responsibility for any land that can normally be accessed by members of the public which is larger than 5 acres and/or contains any of the following:
- Animals other than wildlife
- Body of water
- Children’s play equipment
- Derelict or unoccupied buildings
You or any of your trustees, directors, partners or management committee have not:
- Been declared bankrupt either in a personal or business capacity
- Been convicted of our charged with a criminal offence other than a conviction spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 or motoring offences
- Been the subject of any prosecution, or notice of prosecution, under any health and safety at work, consumer protection or environmental legislation or investigation in the last three years by the Charity Commission, Revenue and Customs or any regulatory body.
- Been declined or refused insurance
- Had insurance cancelled or special terms applied

Been designated or specified under
- the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018, or
- any similar sanctions list provided by the United Nations, European Union or the United States of America
